This mouth-blown glass ball with cork was handmade by me with love at the distillery.

The small ball comes to you empty and hangs on a 1 m long leather strap with a small cat. You can fill the ball yourself, whether with a lock of hair from your friend or child, the hair of your favorite pet (perhaps your cat’s fur) or other mementos. Such as sand from the most beautiful holiday spot or the confetti from the best party, rice from your wedding….

Each ball is unique. They are all made with the same care as the one pictured here. All KLAPPERGLAS objects are made from borosilicate glass and professionally cooled down to ensure the best possible strength and durability.
Compared to ordinary glass jewelry, borosilicate glass is particularly strong.

How it all began…
I started working with glass during my art studies. It had fascinated me for a long time. My grandfather worked in bottle production at a glassworks in the Ruhr area and often brought his own pieces home with him. These were bottle-green vases and bowls that were made from leftover glass after work. In 2012, my husband and I decided to set up a small glass studio in the garden in a trailer. And that’s when the love of glass, designing unique pieces of jewelry and thus KLAPPERGLAS was born.
