Miscarriage Gift Glass Lemon Necklace featuring one realistic handmade glass lemon bead and one handmade glass leaf charm. Both are suspended from rings on an ADJUSTABLE-LENGTH figure 8 chain in your choice of Sterling Silver or 14/20 Gold-Filled. The lemon is just under 3/4 inch (18mm) high and the leaf is about the same size. This necklace is 20 inches (50cm) in total length and is finished with a lobster clasp. You may wear it at any length you please by fastening the lobster into any large link of the chain. The free end of the chain is decorated with a matching green glass leaf. Your jewelry will be carefully packed with biodegradable plant fiber inside a 100% recycled paper gift box with a stretch bow.

“Your baby is the size of a lemon.” These words appear on several popular internet pregnancy calendars at the 14 weeks stage. This necklace can be a sensitive keepsake for yourself or for another woman who is grieving the loss of an infant at 14 weeks due to miscarriage or other complications.

If you need your order sooner than the predicted delivery date, you can purchase a shipping upgrade to a faster speed of USPS during the checkout process. Or if you want more certainty, you can Message me to talk about UPS 2nd Day and Next Day Air options, which I can do for you by special order. A signature will be required for orders valued over $500. If it’s inconvenient to sign for packages at your home address, during checkout you can provide the address of another place where someone will be available to sign – perhaps at your work or the home of a trusted friend.

The Nature of Mother Nature
Almost nothing in nature is completely round, smooth or even, so I avoid making my glass fruit and leaves too perfectly. I put on little splotches and speckles, make them a tidbit lopsided, and add other small imperfections so that each berry or leaf is unique. This makes them look much more real.

Process and Materials:
These glass lemon beads are individually handmade by me using the lampwork process, simple tools and lots of time and experience. In the 4000 degree flame of a torch, I melt the glass directly onto a piece of 20 gauge copper wire which becomes the “stem” of the fruit. After creating the lemon shape I apply every little tiny dent by hand with a tungsten pick.

Sustainability:
The packaging for your order has been reduced as much as possible while still preventing glass breakage. Everything that’s left is made from recycled, sustainable or repurposed materials. Brown packing tape can be recycled right along with the cardboard boxes and paper inserts or filler. The organic Kapok fiber padding inside your gift box will biodegrade, but not fast enough for curbside composting. Please put that in your regular trash. Even the red stretch ribbon on your gift box (which also goes in regular trash) was bought at a second-hand shop and repurposed! 🙂
