Inspired by the ancient city of Ephesus, the surface of this hand carved Byzantine solidus is decorated with enthroned King Justinian II on the observe and a scene, typical of the times, depicting Victory on the reverse. Embellished with a delicate bead at the tip and a twisted bail for the chain, this statement amulet pairs beautifully with smaller golden coin layers from our collection.

Handmade in Vancouver from 24K gold vermeil (which is 3 microns thick of 24K gold plated sterling silver).
